The first weekend of Advent is over and by now at the latest you will be aware that Christmas is really coming.

But now the question arises, how much Christmas spirit is okay in the office?

Unfortunately, most colleagues don't agree on kitschy decorations and Christmas carols. But at least the Advent wreath and the Christmas party are simply part of the mood.

Do colleagues give themselves something for Christmas?

Here simply turn to old hands in the job and then it is best to get a little something, so as not to be without a gift. But keep your hands off expensive and large gifts. We also advise against funny gifts that may not suit the taste of your colleagues. It would be ideal if you make up a certain amount here. If this is too tedious for you: let the colleagues be persuaded to put the “gift budget” in a pot so that they can punch together with the money.

Christmas party = annoying mandatory appointment?

Some look forward to it for weeks, others would rather skip the Christmas party. But most of them are expected to appear for the Christmas party and are therefore compulsory. Basically you should be in a positive mood for the Christmas party. You finally have the opportunity to get to know your colleagues better away from the office and it may bring the team even closer together. Well, you shouldn't lose sight of the alcohol thing ...

But as long as you avoid embarrassments and don't talk about the company all evening, there's nothing standing in the way of the party mood.

After all companies are busy with Christmas parties and urgent errands before business ends -

Is it still worth applying?

YES! Many companies also start new projects in the new year that increase staffing requirements. At the same time, many employees are concerned about their own professional future at the end of the year and are changing. So, at this time, a lot of positions were advertised. In addition, we have found that the number of applications drops significantly - that is, your competition is reduced. Please note, however, that the companies are working on a “back burner” during this time.
