The power curve

The power curve

A performance curve is also known as a physiological work curve and represents the work performance as a function of the time. The starting point is always a 100 percent average performance. A performance curve can thus look like this:

Depending on what type of person you are, the performance highs or performance lows can vary. The performance curve for night owls would shift to the right and the highest concentration would be in the afternoon.

Supporting the performance high

So that the performance curve does not slide down, you can support your body with additional performance boosts. The most important influencing factor here is food. You should have a fresh and light meal during your lunch break so that the body does not have to digest too hard and has energy available again more quickly. It tends to make sense to take several small breaks during the day and have a snack. Thus, the performance can be kept constantly high. If you cannot assess your own performance curve, it is advisable to pay attention to it for a few days and to take notes. You can use this to organize your working day well and schedule important appointments with your own high productivity.

However, the performance curve cannot look similar every day, as humans cannot always achieve the same amount.
