Questions about the current salary are not uncommon. But how should one deal with it? Most candidates encounter a dilemma several times. Should you be completely honest or rather beat around the bush?

Whether the question is uncomfortable or not, under no circumstances should you lie. Do you feel uncomfortable and do not want to disclose your current salary because you feel underpaid, for example? Try bypassing the question. Answer that you have an agreement with the employer to keep the salary confidential. This is how you show loyalty. It is best to think about it before the interview and prepare suitable answers.

Is the recruiter persistent and expecting a specific sum? If the tasks in the new job are similar to those in your previous position, it may make sense to state your previous salary. If you negotiated badly at the time, feel free to say so. Today you are better prepared and most likely have gained more experience. You should of course be able to justify the desired development.
