Teamwork

Teamwork

Team - Toll, ein anderer meight's!

Not infrequently we still have the image of the hated group work in school time in mind when it comes to teamwork. Unclear assignment of tasks, freeloaders and at the end a member of the group who is forced to take on the job - group work does not have the most positive reputation yet.

Working in groups is becoming more and more essential in the age of agility. In order to ensure productive work, good planning is required above all!

The right combination

Whether in large or small teams - it's all about the mix. Groups benefit most when they are put together heterogeneously. Each team member can contribute their expertise and fresh ideas from their area.
Diversity is becoming ever more important - see cultural diversity as an opportunity for modern, creative teamwork!

formulating objectives

Once the team is formed, it needs a clear goal formulation. Pay attention to one as usual SMARTe definition (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Reasonable / Realistic, Time bound). In order for all members to feel equally involved and motivated, it can also be helpful to agree on individual individual and intermediate goals.

task assignment

In poorly planned project groups, the phenomenon of responsibility diffusion often occurs: a task must obviously be done, but nobody feels really responsible - the task is repeatedly postponed and ultimately not carried out.

To avoid this, a clear assignment of tasks is necessary. It is best to split to-dos according to ability - everyone does what they do best. As a result, every member feels essential for the group and the motivation is maintained in the long term. In the age of digitization, a wide variety of programs and apps help with the (online) organization of tasks - so all team members know who is currently working on what.

As soon as you have assembled your group in a variety of ways and the members are clear about their goals and tasks, nothing stands in the way of successful teamwork. Use the opportunities of group work as a way to build the sense of us inside your team, as well as to promote each individual's strengths. Not only will goals be achieved faster and more productively, but employees will also feel valued and work more stress-free.

At the latest then (hopefully) the bad image from the school time soon passé!
